"The nanoHUB is a rich, web-based resource for research, education and collaboration in nanotechnology. The nanoHUB hosts over 1600 resources which will help you learn about nanotechnology, including Online Presentations, Courses, Learning Modules, Podcasts, Animations, Teaching Materials, and more. Most importantly, the nanoHUB offers simulation tools which you can access from your web browser, so you can not only learn about but also simulate nanotechnology devices. The nanoHUB also provides collaboration environment via Workspaces, Online meetings and User groups." -- nanoHub website

Use the nanoHUB Crystal Viewer to answer the following questions (Wikipedia's article on Miller Indexes may be helpful):

-What are the various Bravais lattices?

-How many atoms per unit cell are present in the following Bravais lattices :

*Face Centered Cubic
*Body Centered Orthorhombic
*Hexagonal

Next, design an investigation based on the parameters available to you on one (or more) types of simulations. It's ok if you don't know what the parameters do - you can design an investigation to figure that out!

-You may also want to look at this tool and at the Berkeley Nanoscience Toolikt.
